TAYLOR, PhD, has been named Director for Education Programs at the University
of South Florida Lakeland Campus. Dr. Taylor has worked with the Lakeland
campus since 1998 as an Adjunct Professor. In 2000 she became a full time

08-19-2002 • USF Lakeland Offers Program for Caregivers
The
University of South Florida, Lakeland campus has received a grant from
Polk County Elderly Services, funded by The West Central Florida Area
Agency on Aging, to provide training and education to caregivers of the
elderly.

The
Educational Leadership Department of the University of South Florida(USF),
Lakeland Campus is planning a Master’s Retreat for its new, and

Engineering Advising Session
The
University of South Florida, Lakeland campus will host an open advising
session for current and prospective Information Technology and Industrial
Engineering students on Thursday, July 11, 2002. The session, lasting
from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m., will be held in room 2132 on the Lakeland campus.

06-18-2002 • USF Lakeland Professor Returns, Prepares for New Class Offerings
Dr.
Barbara Loeding, Associate Professor of Special Education, will be returning
in July to USF Lakeland from her sabbatical. While on leave at DePaul
University, she taught courses in Human-Computer Interaction and on how
to make software and websites accessible for people with disabilities.

05-29-2002 • USF Lakeland Enrollment Soars Again!
The
totals are in and, once again, enrollment numbers at USF Lakeland have
sky-rocketed. Enrollment for Summer 2002 courses is up 29.4% from Summer
2001! This increase in summer enrollment follows a 14% increase in student
numbers for the Spring 2002 semester. Read

The
University of South Florida’s Lakeland campus broke records recently
with its second annual commencement ceremony. Of the nearly 4,000 students
to graduate from USF this semester the May 6, 2002, Lakeland graduating
class boasted 71 members, the largest graduating class to date. Read
