Marshall Goodman appointed to Bartow Regional Medical Center Advisory Board
Dr. Marshall Goodman,
VP and CEO of USF Lakeland
LAKELAND,
FL (February 7, 2008) - Dr. Marshall Goodman, VP and CEO of the University of South Florida Lakeland, has been named chairman of the Bartow Regional Medical Center Advisory Board.
"I am honored to accept this position," says Goodman. "I look forward to contributing to the continued success of Bartow Regional Medical Center. The hospital is a hub in our region and a vital aspect of our quality of life. Of course, as USF Lakeland develops a focus on applied health programs, I believe it has become even more important to maintain strong ties to the health and medical community."
Goodman has served on the Board almost as long as he has lived in Polk County. "It was one of the first organizations with which I become involved, and I haven't regretted it for a moment," he says.
Goodman leads Polk County's only public baccalaureate and graduate campus and has been a champion of economic development in central Florida. He has also led the charge to establish USF's Polk County campus as the state's only public polytechnic institution.
Goodman is deeply engaged in local and regional service. He serves on the boards of the Lakeland and Auburndale chambers of commerce, the Central Florida Development Council, the Lakeland Economic Development Council, myRegion.org, Tampa Bay Partnership, the Polk Museum of Art, the United Way of Central Florida, and Polk Vision, among others. He is also a member of the inaugural class of Leadership Polk.
Bartow Regional Medical Center is a 72-bed acute care medical facility serving South Lakeland, Bartow , Ft. Meade, Mulberry, rural south Polk County, and northern Hardee County.
