Non-degree
Seeking Students
USF’s non-degree seeking students are
a class unto themselves. Whether a student is completing a graduate
certificate
or just wants to take a class for personal fulfillment and life long
learning such as those offered in our Educational Outreach programs,
that student
is considered a non-degree seeker. Individuals who would like to learn
more in order to advance in their current career, or learn about a
new
field so they may change careers, can also utilize the non-degree seeking
student status. This status is also valuable for those students who
have
not yet applied to a degree program but would like a head start while
they are deciding their major.
A non-degree
seeking student may apply up to 14 credit hours to undergraduate programs
and 12
credit hours to graduate programs following admission
to the university. These students are required to fill out a non-degree
seeking application and mandatory immunization and medical history
form. Once the application is processed, the student is eligible
to register
for classes through USF’s OASIS system, just like any other
student. Non-degree seeking students are permitted to enroll on
a space-available
basis.
Non-degree seeking applications
are available in the USF Lakeland Office of Student Services
